Solicit Contributions of The Second Drone Vision Contest of the Both Sides Across Taiwan Strait, Hong Kong & Macao

Approved by the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, the Second Drone Vision Contest of the Both Sides Across Taiwan Strait, Hong Kong & Macao (hereinafter referred to as the "Drone Vision Contest"), organized by the China TV Artists Association and the China Association For Promotion of Culture and the China Remote Sensing Application Association, will be held in Shenzhen from October 2018 to November 2018.
The Second Drone Vision Contest of the Both Sides Across Taiwan Strait, Hong Kong & Macao is titled "40 Years of Glorious Footprints," innovatively exploring the cultural exchange between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait and the Hong Kong Macao region through drone imagery, a representative of the integration of technology and art.
It's known that the Drone Vision Contest of the Both Sides Across Taiwan Strait, Hong Kong & Macao began in 2017. The first Drone Vision Contest was held in Shenzhen with the topic of "Overlooking Shenzhen, Glorious Future." After preliminary contest, work screening, and targeted invitations, a total of 20 professional aerial photography teams from mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macao gathered in Shenzhen Dapeng and other places for drone vision creation. The top-level expert judges containing domestic film & TV art and drone vision application experts, ultimately selected one Best Work Gold, Silver, Bronze Award, and one Judging Panel Recommendation Award. Five individual awards for Best Scriptwriter, Drone Vision, drone flyer, gimbal, and Editing. The first Drone Vision Contest was successful.
The Drone Vision Contest provides new ideas for cultural integration between cross-strait regions, and promotes "dual integration" for the two major industries of drone vision and film and television production. Meanwhile, it establishes a new platform for long-term communication, learning and creation between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait and Hong Kong and Macao regions, significantly advancing the progress of cross-strait cultural and creative industries and the development of related supporting industries.
Unlike the first contest, the Second Drone Vision Contest of the Both Sides Across Taiwan Strait, Hong Kong & Macao both learned the successful experience of the first contest's "extensive solicitation, targeted invitation, and limited time creation" in terms of participation form, and innovatively added the "online voting" section for the first time. Through the "online voting + expert evaluation" in the preliminary stage, the "Top 30 Excellent UAV Drone Vision Teams in the Cross Strait and Hong Kong Macao Regions" was determined. In addition, the second Drone Vision Contest further expanded the theme categories of the participating content, which involves cultural landscape, geographical scenery, industry development and other fields.
According to the contest system and procedure of the organizing committee, the Second Drone Vision Contest of the Both Sides Across Taiwan Strait, Hong Kong & Macao falls into the preliminary stage and the final stage.
In the preliminary stage (November 18, 2018), entries will be solicited through online and offline channels, and the organizing committee will review and broadcast these entries online through the official website of the contest and the official WeChat official account. All broadcasted works are voted by the public (weight 40%) through the internet and mobile terminals, and evaluated by judges and experts based on an appraisal of technology and artistry (weight 60%), to determine the "Top 30 Excellent Drone Vision Team for the Second Cross Strait and Hong Kong Macao UAV in 2018."
In the final stage (mid December 2018), 30 teams entering the final through the preliminary rounds and 10 participating teams invited by the organizing committee went to Shenzhen for a 72 hour limited time creative contest, competing for various awards by the judging panel, and holding a grand award ceremony.
The Second Drone Vision Contest of the Both Sides Across Taiwan Strait, Hong Kong & Macao has set up 12 awards including Team Award and Individual Award. The Team Award contains the Gold, Silver, and Bronze Awards for Best Works. The Best Popular Works Award and Best Media Attention Award are set based on online voting attention. The Best Humanities Works Award, Best Scenery Works Award, and Best Industry Works Award are set based on the shooting content.
Set up awards such as Best Scriptwriter Award, Best Drone Flyer Award, Best Gimbal Operator, Best Drone Vision Award, and Best Editing Award in individual awards. Meanwhile, shortlisted awards will also be established.
The organizing committee revealed that, to ensure the artistry, originality, and high level of the contest, and to maintain the fairness and impartiality of the contest, the organizing committee of the contest has established a judging panel. Hu Zhanfan, Vice Chairman of the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, Chairman of the China TV Artists Association and former director of CCTV, and also the chairman of the judging panel, Liu Tiemin, former chief director of the CCTV Spring Festival Gala, Zhou Qiang, director of the Information and Publicity Bureau of the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, Yu Le, Chief Director of CCTV's Aerial China, and Xu Wen, vice chairman and secretary-general of the China Association of Remote Sensing Applications and academician of the International Academy of Astronautics, Wang Chen, Vice Chairman of the China Photographers Association, Mou Jianwei, Director of the UAV Professional Committee of the China Society of Journalism and Photography, Yin Peng, Senior Photography Director of CCTV, and Cai An'an, President of the Macao Film Association and renowned director, jointly formed a panel of judges from both sides of the Taiwan Strait and Hong Kong and Macao industries.
The first Drone Vision Contest of the Both Sides Across Taiwan Strait, Hong Kong & Macao has achieved significant social impact and received widespread attention from domestic media. At the same time, the organizing committee will exempt all teams from registration, work, and team display fees, further expand the impact of the contest, tap into excellent aerial photography teams from both sides of the Taiwan Strait and Hong Kong and Macao, and build a new platform for long-term communication, learning, and creation between both sides of the Taiwan Strait and Hong Kong and Macao regions.
