The award ceremony of the Third Drone Vision Contest of the Both Sides across Taiwan Strait, Hong Kong & Macao in 2020 observed the grand opening

On September 26th, the award ceremony of the Third Drone Vision Contest of the Both Sides Across Taiwan Strait, Hong Kong & Macao in 2020 (hereinafter referred to as "DVC Aerial Photography Creation Contest") was held in the main venue of Dapeng New District, Shenzhen. 

Affected by the COVID-19 epidemic, the award ceremony of this year's "DVC Aerial Photography Creation Contest" was held in a combination of live and cloud. Leaders and judges from the main venue in Shenzhen and the branch venue in Beijing, as well as participants from Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macao, and various provinces and cities across the country, and social and industry media, gathered together in a special way to witness the birth of awards from the Third Drone Vision Contest of the Both Sides across Taiwan Strait, Hong Kong & Macao in 2020. 

Under the guidance of All-China Federation of Taiwan Compatriots, and co-sponsored by China TV Artists Association, China Association For Promotion of Culture and China Association of Remote Sensing Application, this year's DVC Aerial Photography Contest was organized by the All-China Federation of Taiwan Compatriots. Also, this contest has been fully supported by China Association for Science and Technology, Taiwan Affairs Office of Shenzhen Municipal People's Government, Shenzhen Dapeng New District Administrative Committee and Shenzhen Taiwan Compatriots Association. 

Since its inception in 2017, the "Drone Vision Contest of the both sides across Taiwan Strait, Hong Kong & Macao" has been successfully held for two sessions with the themes of "Overlooking Shenzhen, Meaningful City" and "40 Years of Brilliant Footprints". The event has attracted numerous drone aerial photography teams from both sides of the Taiwan Strait and Hong Kong and Macao to gather together, exploring innovative models for cultural exchange between the two sides and promoting communication and exchange in the field of drone aerial photography between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait and Hong Kong and Macao.

The 3rd DVC Aerial Photography Creative Contest was officially launched in August 2020, with the theme of "Home". After the preliminary stage of collecting works, online voting, releasing the top 30 list, 72-hour time-limited creation and judge evaluation, the contest has finally come to the moment of announcing the ultimate prize winner today. 

Gracious speech

In the main venue of Shenzhen, Mr. Ju Xiaochen, deputy director of Shenzhen Dapeng New Area Management Committee, on behalf of the contest support units, welcomed everyone to Dapeng New Area, and talked about the development of the New area in recent years and the policy support in UAV aerial photography culture and creativity. I hope everyone can come to Dapeng New Area and promote Dapeng New Area. 

Mr. Luo Ge, Chairman of China Association of Remote Sensing Applications, Academician of International Academy of Astronautics and former Deputy Director of China National Space Administration, delivered a speech on behalf of the organizer of the contest. He summarized the various stages of the contest, including planning, work collection, online voting, and judge evaluation, and thanked all the members of the judging panel and the executive committee for their hard work and dedication. He also said that the organizing committee of the contest will continue to improve the contest system, enrich its content, strengthen its services, and expand its publicity, in order to create a better platform for the Drone Vision Contest. 

You reap what you sow

As the award ceremony proceeds, the exciting list of winners is announced and the awarding ceremony of the contest follows. Besides, this contest "cloud award" unique new form is also the industry's first time.

After an objective, fair and rigorous evaluation by the judging panel, the final individual awards and team awards of the third DVC Aerial Photography Creation Contest in 2020 have been announced. After hard work and dedication, the joy of harvest finally arrives. 

01 Individual single award of the contest

Mr. Lu Zhengqun, Executive Vice President and Secretary General of Shenzhen Taiwan Business Association, announced the winners of the Best Drone Flyer Award. Xie Zhencheng, a "Romance Team" from Macao, won the Best Drone Flyer Award for his work Xi'ao. Mr. Li Guojie, chairman of Galaxy Network of Taiwan, delivered the award speech for the Best Drone Flyer Award via live video link from Taiwan.

Ms. Lin Na, Chairman of Shenzhen Taiwan Compatriots Association, announced the winners of the Best Editing Award and the winners. Zhang Wenwei, an editor from Taiwan's Village Life team, won the award for his work Township Life

Cai An'an, president of Macao Film Association, commented on the work online in Macao. The editing technique of the work is very creative, which makes up for the regret of the shooting of the material. 

Next, Mr. Yang Jun, the Secretary of the Party Working Committee of Dapeng New District, Shenzhen, announced the winner of the Best Gimbal Operator Award and the winning work and player. Lu Hongda, the gimbal operator of Tangjikede's team from Sichuan, won the individual award for his work The Land of a Country. Mr. Li Lichi, a Hong Kong film director, said in Hong Kong video link for comments. The winner of the Best Gimbal Award winner has a pair of eyes for beauty, fully demonstrates the charm of his hometown, with great artistic conception and creativity.

Mr. Xiao Bing, the Deputy Director of the Taiwan Affairs Office of Guangdong Province, announced the winner of the Best Screenwriter Award and the winning work and player. Wu Jianbin from the BLANK Vision team in Shenzhen won this award. Mr. Liu Junyu, a Sohu Video documentary producer, director, and former director of the Central Newsreel and Documentary Film Studio, reviewed the work online at the Hengshui studio in Hebei. The work elaborates on the writer's impression of "home" and touches people's hearts with its thought-provoking and storytelling qualities.

02 Team award off contest

Outstanding UAV aerial photography shows not only the skills and experience of a single person, but also the tacit cooperation of an aerial photography team. The team award of this contest has a total of 5 team awards, including Network Popularity Award, media Attention Award, Gold Award, silver award and bronze Award for best works. 

Mr. Shen Yongfeng, Secretary General of the Beijing Branch of the China Association For Promotion of Culture announced the winning works and winning teams of the Network Popularity Award. The aerial photography team, "Aerophotography, no NG" from Ningbo, won the award with their high popularity in online voting. Mr. Yu Le, the chief director of CCTV's "Aerial China", read out the comments from the judges via video link from Hainan.

Zhu Fenglian, Deputy Director of the Information Bureau and Spokesperson of the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, announced the Media Attention Award. The Tangjikede team from Sichuan won the award with their work The Land of a Country, which impressed even the most discerning media professionals. Liu Fengyu, a judge at the Beijing venue of the contest, president of Camouflage Ray Pictures at Enlight Media, and former director of the Literature Department and director at the August First Film Studio, read out the comments from the judges.

The best team award is the most important prize of the contest. Mr. Loge announced the Bronze Award for the Best Work in the contest, which was won by the Chenhe Aerial Photography team from Shanxi for their work "Side Wall". Mr. Li Gang, a veteran film and television director in Taiwan, reviews the works online.

Ms. Bai Tianliang, Vice president of the All-China Taiwan Federation, announced the silver Award for the best work. Felifari team from Wuhan, Hubei Province won the silver award for their work Han. Liu Tiemin, the former chief director of CCTV Spring Festival Gala, delivered the judges' comments online from Nanjing.

As the final and most prestigious award of the ceremony, Ms. Du Ling, a member of the Standing Committee of the Shenzhen Municipal Party Committee, announced the winner of the Best Work Gold Award, which was won by the Han Xiang Aerial Photography team from Taiwan for their work The Greater Bay Area. The work impressed the judges with its focus on the Greater Bay Area, grandeur, and excellent flying and gimbal technology. Mr. Hu Zhanfan, China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, the Vice President of China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, Chairman of China TV Artists Association and Chairman of the judging panel of this contest, presented the certificate of honor and the trophy. When commenting on the gold Award works, Mr. Hu Zhanfan said that the gold Award for the best works of the competition is excellent in terms of theme presentation, shooting skills, composition, rendering and editing, with a strong sense of time. 

After receiving the Gold Award, Hanxiang Aerial Photography (Taiwan) team member Xu Rongxiang said in a media interview that their work combined the three regions of Shenzhen, Hong Kong, and Macao, and was shot with the theme of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. "For work reasons, I have lived in the Greater Bay Area of Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao for 13 years. One-third of the time was spent living in Shenzhen, one-third was spent filming movies in Hong Kong, and the remaining one-third was spent shooting advertisements in Macao. Wherever I am, that's where my home is, and I have a strong emotional attachment to all three places."

Share the harvest, looking forward to the next Drone Vision Contest

With the sound of music, the award ceremony of the Third DVC Aerial Photography Creation Contest in 2020 also came to a slow end, marking the successful end of the third DVC Aerial Photography Creation Contest. In this special year of the epidemic, drone aerial photographers from both sides of the Taiwan Strait and Hong Kong and Macao still gathered together in a special manner to jointly create their youthful dreams of “home” and present a birthday gift of drone aerial photography for the 71st anniversary of the motherland.

The success of the Third Drone Vision Contest of the Both Sides across Taiwan Strait, Hong Kong & Macao in 2020 marks that the contest is becoming mature and responsible. Looking forward to the future, the contest will continue to build a long-term platform for cultural, creative and technological industries across the Taiwan Straits and between Hong Kong and Macao to exchange and learn from each other. Hence, it is also important to look forward to the next Drone Vision Contest as promised for the sake of jointly promoting the progress of cultural and creative industries across the straits.
