2018-12-30

Introduction to the Drone Vision Contest

Approved and established by Taiwan Work Office of the CPC Central Committee and Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, the Second Drone Vision Contest of the Both Sides Across Taiwan Strait, Hong Kong & Macao will be held in Shenzhen from October to December, 2018. Through the drone vision, the representative of integration between scientific technology and art, the contest aims to explore the innovative attempts in cultural exchange models between the two sides of Taiwan Strait and in Hong Kong and Macao.

Under the theme of “40 Years of Glorious Footprints” and open to the both sides across Taiwan Strait, Hong Kong and Macao, the contest will collect drone vision works widely, and disseminate the selected works through diverse media and video platforms, so as to fully record and reflect the arduous struggle and glorious achievements of people from all walks of life over the past 40 years.

Based on the principle of the first contest featuring “extensive collection, targeted invitation, and time-limited creation”, the contest this year will add a new process of “online voting”, which will help to select Top 30 Outstanding Drone Aerial Photography Teams of the Both Sides Across Taiwan Strait, Hong Kong & Macao in the preliminary round through ”online voting and expert review”.

For the final battle of the contest, 40 drone teams from both sides of Taiwan Strait, Hong Kong and Macao selected through online evaluation, expert review or invited, will conduct their creation with time requirements. Additionally, the contest this year will invite the contestants for the first time to elaborate their time-limited creation and share the sources of aerial photography, so as to extend the aerial footage of the final contest to the beautiful scenery, humanities and industries of the great China, fully reflecting the theme of“40 Years of Glorious Footprints”.

The top artists in China will be invited to provide their guidance in the final selection and award ceremony of the contest this year, which will not only present the winning works to the public, but only present the exchange and creation process of contestants in the final stage. The contest hopes to truly construct an exchange platform for drone aerial photography of both sides across Taiwan Strait, Hong Kong & Macao, promote the exchange and industrial support for both sides of the Strait, and build Shenzhen, the forefront of Reform and Opening-up, into the most center of cross-Strait cultural exchange activity.
